My name is Lauren Sroubek and I am a recent graduate from Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Public Relations and a minor in Sports and Recreation. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I’ve learned how to prioritize and delegate tasks, critique and analyze data and lead others in group settings for academic or other organizational purposes.
As a recent graduate, I’ve developed and maintained a set of values I keep myself accountable for in my work and personal life. Some attributes I’ve acquired is the need for continuous improvement. I am always striving and looking for ways to develop new skills and strategies to strengthen myself as an individual. All of my work and decisions are based on integrity. By working honestly and respectfully makes me a reliable and trustworthy person. And finally passion – in whatever anyone is involved in; if there’s no passion or drive to want to achieve that goal, then what is the point?
Along with these skills, I would consider myself a hard worker, as well as a self-motivator. I love new challenges and pushing myself to be the best version of myself. I don’t like meeting the bare minimum, so I find different ways to be valuable and resourceful to myself and others.
In addition, I am patient and willing to work corporately and effectively with anything thrown my way. Being open-minded is one of my strengths, which allows me to be flexible, creative and unique. Standing out is now a common and needed trend in any industry. And the only way to do that is to have some creativity. Adding some spunk, originality and humor comes a long way when people want to be recognized. It allows people to truly express themselves and open doors to new experiences. Without it, life would be dull and grey.
By no means am I perfect. I make mistakes, but that’s what makes me a stronger individual. Learning from my failures makes me become more successful and unlikely to repeat those mistakes. I am willing to take risks and try new challenges because that is what will set me apart from others – being myself.
